Moneypenny - Take the shot

OK, I like Moneypenny. She took the shot and accidentally shot Bond. But she still had time to take out the bad guy and mope about Bond later. Guess that really spooked her. :-(

reply

Yeah she was in shock and therefore hesitated.

Making Moneypenny a field agent has to be the worst creative decision in franchise history. Or is brother Blofeld the worst? I can't keep track of all the blunders anymore.

reply

brother Blofeld is probably the lamest.
Moneypenny as a field agent is one of the worst.

but also let's not forget Blofeld dressed in drag in "Diamonds Are Forever"
you can never un-see that shit.

No, I don't making her a former field agent who took a desk job was a terrible idea, although having her accidentally shoot Bond wouldn't have been how I set it all up. Because face it, the original Moneypenny was a mess, a pathetic person who was no fun to watch, there's lots of room for improvement with the character!

So I'm fine with making her a former field agent who realized she wasn't anywhere near Bond's level, it gives them room to get the character out from behind the desk occasionally.

Many things done in Skyfall could have been fine were they in better hands in the production. But it is generally unsavable. The orphan story and idiotic ending are irredeemable. Moneypenny shooting into a melee atop a moving train should have been great (sounds great on paper) but they directed and wrote it into a mess.
Skyfall is terrible.

It was all planned perfectly by Silva, and thats why hes the best Bond Villain ever. He told his assassin to turn Bond around atop the train just as she was about to shoot. And Silva knew she would be in a freeze panic mode after she shot Bond. Thats why he wasn't killed until the meeting in Shanghai
