Is opening chase scene in Skyfall the best opening scene in action film history? (the opening chase scene begin with a brief car chase, followed by a brief gun fight at the market, the rooftop motorbike chase, and the train fight, ended when Moneypenny accidental shot Bond)

reply

No, I still think The Spy Who Loved Me has it topped. The chase in Casino Royale was not the opening but pretty much the beginning. Also, Spectre has a great opening which is sad because he rest of the movie is average.

As far as film history goes, nothing can EVER touch Raiders of the Lost Ark for me

As far as Bond history goes I'd say Spectre is the best opening scene. The Day of The Dead Parade all in one shot then Bond going on the roof to shoot the villian and the building exploding and coming down with Bond having to now save his own ass then fallin on the sofa to catch his fall and then he takes down the guys in the helecopter over the square of people celebrating was amazing and for real. Bond flying off just before the opening credits song starts is awesome..

... End of line.

I thought the Spectre opening was better too.

This means something, this is important.

I thought Spectre was better than Skyfall. But I do think it should be in the top ten best Bond opening scenes.

The Spy who loved me. Best opening ever and all done for real.

Yes, any true Bond fan has to acknowledge that the pre-credits sequence in The Spy Who Loved Me is astonishing. I remember reading how Rick Sylvester (I think that's who performed the skiing stunt) and his team had to do to get that shot.

So although I still think that Spectre is the best opening sequence, TSWLM is damn awesome too.
