Amazing

We checked out William Kuntsler: DTU last night at Rooftop Films BAM Screening. It was an amazing insight into the man thru the eyes of his daugthers. It covers 4 of his biggest trials. The film shows who he was going into the trail and who he became by the end. Chicago 7 (or Chicago 10 to some), Attica Prison Takeover, Wounded Knee, and Larry Davis Trail.

I was blown away by the honesty and coming to terms the directors dealt with in making this film. I can't wait to purchase the DVD.

Lastly, William Kuntsler represented so many things and has always been one of my hero's. Thanks for sharing an amazing story!!!

He is my hero too. I was an idealistic young student in the late 1960s, and I raised my child to protect the underdog, to put ethics ahead of personal advantage. Watching this film, I recalled the soul that this nation once had, and I felt a terrific sense of loss --- not only of him, but of myself. I do not demonstrate anymore; I let injustices stand unopposed; at most I write on a message board. I did not protest the war this time around but went my own way, the easy way. I miss William Kunstler because he represented the better side of me too. I reconnected with that part of myself in this movie, and I thank his daughters for making it. This nation needs heroes like him; we have abandoned our idealism and our burning commitment to justice; the ideals for which he was the tireless paladin. This film has given me a lot to think about. There are still plenty of oppressed people and plenty of outrages --- and what am I doing to change that?
