bank URL (*SPOILERS*)

The URL on the laptop for that banking website starts with http://127.0.0.1 This is never a valid URL for an external website. 127.0.0.1 essentially means "this computer". In other words, that bank website was being hosted right from the laptop.

When I saw that, I was hoping it was significant. Like, she created the website on the laptop beforehand to trick the kidnapper (they did mention she was a Comp. Sci. major). She uses the handy "website down for maintenance in 5 minutes" countdown to pressure the kidnapper into giving her his bank password which she uses to stick it to him because she's had this whole thing planned all along. That would have been cool.

But, as it turns out, it was just a goof. Too bad.

Otherwise not a bad movie.

I believe this is no error at all, but it's just like in movies and TV shows when they use "555" in a fake phone number, so real people aren't dialed up and bothered by idiots. In this case, the numbers aren't intended to be a "real" account at all, but just to give it the "look" of authenticity.
