How compatible is it with Guitar Hero?

I have heard that the guitar hero & rock band are cross-compatible. However, I'm a bit puzzled about the drum controllers. The Rock Band drum set has four coloured pads and the pedal as the fifth colour (orange), whereas the Guitar Hero drum set has five coloured pads and the pedal does not have a colour. So what happens if you use a guitar hero drum set with a rock band game? Any help would be appreciated.

Guitar Hero just shrinks the drum highway down to four lanes with Rock Band drum sets. Drum pedal is drum pedal, no matter what colr. GH drums with RB- same thing, just ignore the orange.
