Castle: VA cameos!

I'm a bit behind on my Castle watching, but since this board is pretty quiet; why the heck not?

In season 2 (ish) we got the double-bill of Nihlus and the Turian councilor, AKA Neil Duncan.

Around season 4/5 we got Garrus Vakarian himself; Brandon Keener.

And in season 7, we got the Platinum trophy equivalent! Ali Hillis! Liara T'Soni!

Kinda dumb, but I love Castle & Mass Effect, so combining both is pretty cool for me.

Found another one! In Bones this time.

Gianna Parisini was in an episode from way back in season 2.

You forgot Kaidan in Season 5 of Castle.

Right! The Bigfoot episode. Totally forgot about that one. Oopsies!

Brandon Keener's appearance was by far the funniest. Thinking he'd been bitten by a zombie and not wanting to leave the jail cell was right up Brandon's alley. Although Raphael's reaction to Castle holding the rare Bigfoot finger was pretty funny, too! 

I've been watching BONES for 11 seasons and never picked up on Parisini being on the show. 

I got the new season and realised I couldn't remember what last happened so I'm doing a Bonesathon.

Gianna was in season 2; the episode with the priests and the grave robbing kid. She was the murderer. I recognised the voice right away.

Agreeing with you on Brandon's performance! I didn't think Garrus could be that funny???

She was the murderer?! Oh my gosh!  The Priest in the Churchyard. That episode? That's the episode where everyone thought that boy had been abused by the priest, right? And Brennan kept offending the old priest, as she likes to do?

I missed Parisini in the 3rd ME. She was the odd voice here and there but I missed the character of Gianna Parisini after talking with her in 1 and 2.

I have GOT to watch that episode tonight. I also missed Nihlus and the Turian councilor on Castle. I'll have to go back to season 2 and sniff them out. I thought it was just Garrus and Kaidan who'd been on.

I'm glad you started this thread. It's given me something to sniff out now. 

Yep, that's the one.

Ditto on Gianna; there were a number of characters they skipped over in ME3 that I wish they'd kept on. I mean did they put the names in a hat & everyone picked out Conrad?

Glad to be of service and have fun with the search... We really should think up a cool name for that! Like, Sheparding, or something?

As much as I liked Conrad in the first 2 games, I would rather have seen Parisini or even Emily Wong rather than him. It would have been nice to include either character. I thought finding out about Conrad was very predictable. They wrote him so stupidly in the first 2 games that he had to end up being valuable in some way.

I boarded the Netflix train and watched The Priest in the Churchyard. I didn't feel like getting up and actually laying hands on the dvd's. I'm old and lazy that way.  I can't believe I missed her. It's so obviously her! And I call myself a Mass Effect fan! Oh the shame! 😔

I looked her up to see what else she's been doing and do you know she was also on Castle? The episode called Kill Switch, Season 7, Episode 8. Again I missed her! This is getting embarrassing. 😩

EDIT: And again, I can't believe I missed her, it was so obviously her. I'm now getting into *facepalm* territory. Now all we need is Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale and the gang's all here! 

I've got to ask, since the Mass Effect: Andromeda board is dead, are you looking forward to the next game?

We really should think up a cool name for that! Like, Sheparding, or something?

Okay. Now I'm off to go participate in some "sheparding" to see if I can find her in the season 7 episode of Castle. 

Talking to Conrad always bugs me since in 2 he always complains about you sticking a gun in his face, even if you didn't. And then in 3, the writers just make him apologise for their goof! Gianna would have made a nice addition; -even if her career would be kind of obsolete due to the war- since she does kiss Shepard if you played the game in just the right ways.

Didn't notice her on Castle; but then, I only spotted her on Bones due to a rewatch & recognising her voice. I think I'll do a Castle-catch up once I'm on top of Bones, so to speak. (I'm about half way through, so not that long to go.)

I'm kind of on the fence with Andromeda. On one hand, I put like, seven years into the trilogy; but then those endings kinda flatlined my enthusiasm somewhat. And of course; the new game will have virtually nothing to do with the previous games; which makes me wonder how the heck it can tie in with all the knots relating to how the trilogy ended??? Unless this was some kind of thing that got sent before the war started & the new ship has had no contact with the events back home. Kind of like Star Trek Voyager; without the constant we want to go home sub-plot.

In a way, it kind of reminds me of the Dragon Age trilogy. I played the first one, but for the longest time, avoided the second one both because I knew the original hero/cast didn't appear, plus there were all the negative reviews...
Oddly though, when I did eventually play it, I actually found some of it to be more fun than the original. And definitely with less annoyingly difficult parts.

Either way, I'd say furthering the ME universe will only draw more attention to the original games & hopefully pull in more fans. So maybe we'll finally get that movie deal the hardcore fans have been clamouring for, since forever?

Not technically a person cameo; but when watching an episode with Pelant, I noticed that the murder weapon they get him with was Duncan Macleod's katana from Highlander. (I have a replica, so I recognised it pretty quick.)

Technically, I found another one....

Bones season nine gets Neil Duncan, aka, Nihlus in the second episode.

I just watched the kill switch episode, but straight after that, I spotted another crossover character... this one wasn't Mass Effect this time, but was Gibbs' fourth wife on NCIS. Not technically connected to this board, but since Castle's first wife was also Gibbs' as well... it's still a small world.
