creepiest moment?

in that area with the houses and the "perfect" neighbors, you realize somethings not right "dead people in the basement" and when you try to leave they are all standing outside with knives waiting for you

I thought one of the creepiest moments was when I helped the Ghouls take over Tenpenny Tower because I though I was doing the right thing, then I went inside and all the lights are out and there's a huge load of feral ghouls tearing all of the guards and residents to pieces... That's one where I had to sit back and think, maybe this wasnt the right decision.....

Point Lookout as a whole was also extremely unsettling the first time i played through it.

Having to deliver the secret "package" to the guy that lives in the shack in Girdershade. You better believe he paid me for that one. lol...(didn't want to spoil it for those who haven't done this little mini-quest)

I did the same exact thing. I was like "oh sh!t, didn't quite mean to do that". So I tried it again. I figured I'd kill the head ghoul, but then got bad karma when his buddies came after me.

Dunwich Building definately. Favorite part is listening to the audiotape and hearing the guy slowly turn into a Ghoul.

reply

Dunwich Building was REALLY creepy. Just listening to the Feral Ghouls moan and growl before they see you creeped the s**t out of me. I was with Fawkes at the time but she didn't come into the building for ages - I was on my own!

Yea lots of little Creepy moments in this game, i thought vault 108 with the 'Gary' clones was freaky!! just very dark with them wandering/running around whispering/shouting "Gary...."

You cant stop progress!

reply

I thought Andale was great, because the way I played it I came out of one of the houses (I dont recall, it's been months since I played that side quest)house while the neighbors were getting ready to ambush me at the other house. I went into sneak mode, lobbed a frag grenade, and watched the limbs fly!

Then you can kill the grandpa and the kids are stuck all alone lol

Dunwich Building with the Game of the Year edition is almost impossible if you dont have the ghoul mask. The Feral Ghould Reapers will tear even a level 25 player to shreds. Bringing Fawkes with you will help, but if you get 2 Reapers in the same room, things get dicey very quickly, even with his Gatling Laser.

Above a poster mentioned siding with roy at Tenpenney Tower and wondering if he made the wrong choice. You did not. Trust me, the Ghoul Mask is easily worth the lives of those residents (sadly, even Daring Dashwood, RIP).

The Old Olney sewers are creepy, because Deathclaws in the dark are no fun. And I stay out of Vault 106 completely, even though there's a bobblehead in there, because it's just plain weird in there.

And I second the Fallout wiki: It's helpful, but it can ruin some parts of the game with spoilers.

Returning to the Megaton ruins after nuking the town and finding Moira still there, except her skin is all melted, burned and "ghoulish". And she's still a dimwit. ;-)

By riley's compound there's this loop of a man frantically rambling over a loudspeaker. Haven't found him yet.

Look for an alley with a man crouching at the entrance. He will say something to you about there being lots of mines rigged up. If you look down the alley and on the left hand side on the second story there you will see the rambling loon. I usually blow his head off the second I have a clear shot. He has some loot I think including a mini nuke as I recall... And watch out for the rigged up mines!

I hear the guy with the loud speaker is wired with a massive amount of mini nukes if you try to approach his position he detonates them.

My creepiest moment was a random encounter with hunters, when I asked them what they were hunting for they told me that they were hunting the best kind of meat. So I bought some, it was titled "Strange Meat" turns out they were cannibals, I then found again them and killed them.

I'm pretty sure the bodies are now gone forever. The main ghoul (forget his name) tells you they stashed the bodies in the basement, but I'm pretty sure they aren't really there. I don't think there is anything you can't get into in Tenpenny without a key, though, if you have a high enough lockpick, except maybe the armory.

As far as creepiest moments:

-Turning around and seeing a Deathclaw right next to me in the dark or a Mirelurk creeping up in a cave
-The whole Tranquilty Lane experience, especially the creepy room with the super computer and how you have to play sounds off the trash to boot it up (though the Chinese invasion was pretty funny)
-Post-atomic explosion Moira
-Forget his name but the doctor you have to talk to to complete the Grayditch mission. Just because I opened the door, thinking it would lead to a spare room or more tunnels and out of nowhere this guy pops out
-The baby carriage trap. Especially the first time. It was the first trap I'd hit so I didn't know what was going on. I heard a click, a baby crying, a huge explosion, and the game promptly reloaded my last save spot

The bodies in the basement at Tenpenny Tower is a glitch - Roy mentions something about the bodies being in the basement, and I looked all over for them but all I found was a load of blood trails and one Glowing One ghoul in that basement / emergency exit area... I think they're supposed to be there but the programmers just messed up somehow...

The first time I went out of Vault 101, and did my first step in the capital wasteland, the first creature I encounter was a Deathclaw, It was creepy for me. It killed me of course...

The first time I met the centaur freaks me out

When I scavenge meat bag to find thing is really creepy

The first time I needed to eat human flesh to get my healt back was freakin creepy

A lot of other things is really creepy

Yeah, I don't think it's a big deal. It's one of those missions where both sides has their own ulterior motives, and neither are really "good guys". I let the ghouls take over because I couldn't stand the Tenpenny residents. But I didn't really like the ghouls, either.

Andale, Vault 108 ("GAAAARYYYYY~") and the whole Walking With Spirits quest in Point Lookout. All the hallucinations (the thread and needle, the dead bodies, the crying Nuka-Cola bottles, etc.) and then the part where you realize a piece of your brain is missing. That whole part just creeped me out. XD
