Margaret White would have given Mary Griffith a good what for!!!

I would have loved to see Margaret White's character from "Carrie" pop up 2 or 3 times in this movie. She would have shamed Mary Griffith to the devil. Right from the opening scene when Mary is sitting at her stupid sewing machine, smoking a cigarette and wearing a pink blouse, Margaret would come in to the room like a big crow and tell Mary to take off her blouse so they could burn it together and pray for forgiveness. I would have loved to see Margaret slap Mary to the floor with her huge bible and tell Mary she is going to hell for giving in to the sin of lustful thoughts and having a whole bunch of kids. Margaret would tell Mary she is going to hell for having short hair, then she pull out her big knife and cut off the rest of it.

Basically, I'd love to see Margaret harass and terrify Mary and give her a real jolt. That would be so much fun.

I'm watching this movie right now, and I'm going to pretend that Margaret White is part of my experience. It will probably be dumb, but I don't care. It's cathartic.

(Margaret walks into the living room, where Mary is watching a movie)

I wouldn't say it is "overrated" IY, it is just a very difficult thing to want to buy into for many. Having a limited perspective, is only fighting to keep personal limitations and where is the growth in that. How is that benefiting? Each of us have our own journey though, and if one is not ready, then in their own time. Isn't having an awareness of something that can be possible a good head-start though?

I am not Christian, in the sense of the dual\separate notion of a God that is taught in the bible; but Jesus was about forgiveness, which is being "forever giving". I bet many Christians even struggle with this. Heck, I struggle with forgiveness and letting go; but at the end of day, I have to ask why am I holding on with vengeful thoughts and what noble and dutiful purpose is that serving me. It only exacerbates any feelings of hate I may have for others. This is not a wise move in the greater scheme of things. So yes, not being able to forgive is about "self-pity" and victim-hood mentality. Injustices occur; but how we deal with them is what matters.

Perhaps Ida could get a hold of Mary Griffith, and plant her in Vincent's special vegetable garden. This would be good for Mary, because she would only be able to gurgle her religious rhetoric and wouldn't be causing any harm or pain to Bobby here. If you wanted to punish her even more severely, we can send Millie around to have a chat  with her and Pinky can spit her stale bubblegum right in Mary's face.  This is how Mary would end up 

Ida would plant Mary backwards and in the front row so that Mary could get her big chance to rasp at the hookers, the swingers and the pot smoking rock band and inform them that they are now finally seeing the consequences of all their sinning ways.

Of course, Mary wouldn't see Ida (in full evil, scary Ida mode! ) walk up to her, bend down and - right as Mary is getting ready to ask if there are any homosexuals in the garden - snap Mary's neck in two.

Pinky would have Mary as one of her patients at the convalescent spa and she'd leave Mary in one of the hot tubs, causing her to die.

How many times can poor Mary die Mr. H? 😄 You will have to choose only one and make it the most deserving and justified. 😈 Or you can just scare her a little, or a lot as you see fit. 😨

Okay, Rascal, if she can die only once, then...

"MEAT'S MEAT AND MAN'S GOTTA EAT!"

But that would mean that someone else would have to eat Vincent's tasty treats, and would Mary really enhance the flavor? 😕

Vincent and Ida had to throw that batch out after Ida barfed all night.

Ida barfed? I thought she had a cast iron stomach. The tasty treats must have been vile. Poor Mary, it doesn't matter what she does in your eyes, I can't see you offering any absolution or chance to redeem herself. Watch what you say Mr. H, you just might come back as her son in your next life. 😨

As long as I can forgive my own mother, I think I'm okay. I can judge Mary from afar, and no harm done.

Sometimes there is nothing to forgive, we just hang onto things that need to be let go of. I look at my mother now and see what she has done to herself, so why bother wasting too much energy being overly harsh on her. That said, I only have the occasional phone conversation and only see my folks in person once a year for a couple of weeks. If they were in my face all the time, it might take on a different meaning.

Yes, Rascal, that's right. Sometimes there is nothing to forgive.

At any rate, forgiveness is at the heart of letting go.

Yes, Mr. H and yet "letting go" and forgiveness is one of the hardest things for us to do as humans. Holding on is getting caught up in a victim mentality mindset and that can make us anger. Not a great emotion or feeling to carry around with us. I look at things in terms of karma as well. We don't know if what is going on with us or happening to us is a result of our journey and lesson here. We could have been pricks in a previous life. I know I'm a prick in this one, so that goes without saying. 😄

Yeah, I think about karma a lot. It makes more sense than almost anything else. It's like it helps keep the universe in a state of equilibrium or something. I don't know.

Yes, and it's awareness about being responsible for all our actions. We really don't get away with anything at all. Like it was commented to me by a very wise lady I know, it is the imprint we leave behind that is important. Mindfulness and self-directed learning is what it is all about.

Mary was the biggest sinner of all, for birthing a filthy dirty homosexual like Bobby. This would have likely raised the ire of Margaret even more. Perhaps the real retribution, is that Margaret would not suffer a witch to live the life of a harlot. Mary would be doomed. After they burned her sinful pink blouse and she was bashed with Margaret's bible and forced to repeat over and over again that the first sin was intercourse, she was locked in the closet to pray and had to stew in her own filthy waste for 48hrs.

Margaret then called on the one and only Mommie Dearest to show Mary the meaning of true discipline. Even Margaret was afraid of Mommie. Mary can no longer look at a wire hanger without cringing in fear, and it was especially humiliating when Mommie tore up her favorite Sunday dress and made her wear it to church for a whole year. And since Mommie had a bit of a penchant for carpet munching, she showed Mary the true meaning of what a great time sinful homosexuals can have together. 😱
