Jane Lynch vs Megan Mullally

What do you guys think? They are totally different characters, but I actually prefer Mullally to Lynch in this show. Shes so clueless and goofy. And she named her daughter Escapade, which is hilarious. I'm just glad she was a whole new character instead of just copying Constance.

Lydia gets a lot of hate, but I actually liked her. Her brainstorming with 'Wesley Snipes' was hilarious.

You're the funniest thing I seen since Biter chewed off that Septa's teats - Rorge

Megan is far superior, but Jane Lynch starts to grate afetr a while as shes not really that good in my opinion

yes you do, you've just used a double negative

Lydia is just uncomfortable to watch, which may have enticed certain viewers and repelled others. I think she's polarizing. When Constance came back, I realized how much I missed that sort of character. Someone who was ridiculous, but still motherly and could provide some sort of comfort to other characters. Lydia was the complete opposite of this, which I suppose the writers thought would be interesting to try out.

Lynch owned the first season. Every line she had was brilliant.

Jennifer Coolidge.

All three are very unique, which is a big testament to both the writing and acting. Lynch nails almost every line in Season 1, however.

I have to say I much prefer Lynch. I quite like Mullaly in what I've seen of her in other shows such as Parks and Rec, but I felt her character in this was pretty annoying.

They are all good. Too bad Coolidge's visit on the show was so brief. I wish she had been a regular.

reply

I think Jennifer Coolidge was funnier than both. But I think Lynch was a lot funnier than Mullally. Lydia just felt... Forced and kind of annoying to me.

I thought Lydia was much better/funnier than Constance. And I'm a Jane Lynch fan. She just didn't seem right in this show to me and honestly as horrible as this sounds I couldn't tell at first whether she was supposed to be mentally challenged or just kind of stupid or what.

I love Lydia and the running joke where she thinks various people are celebs when they aren't or she thinks certain celebs are someone else (Guttenberg/Danson, etc). I enjoy how happy and silly she is all the time.

I am much more of a Megan Mullally than a Jane Lynch fan and I have to say, I preferred Constance. Lydia, to me, was just kind of cute but boring. Lynch can be grating/annoying at times but her character had funnier lines. Coolidge was great just like she was--in small doses.

This is one of the things I disagree most on with my friend who also loves this show. Overall, I think Megan Mullaly was funnier, both as a character and as an actress. All of her "my friend Peg" lines make me laugh embarrassingly hard.

I think there was kind of a running joke involving Lynch and the blonde actor, that they were both bad actors and looked alike and I missed their interactions in the second season. Mullaly is all eyeballs and eyebrows for comedy(wha-wha-what????) and thought Lynch was per unusual a favorite. Also a one-for-one switch for middle aged actresses afer the glee loss wasn't quite moving

Constance. Constance all the fcking way.
