Brilliant movie--- Perfect ending

Here are a few flaws...

1. You cast Kate Beckinsale as the wife and Ross couldn't wait for her !!! I get that Ross wasn't buying fully about his wife's story about intergrity and such and probably went out revenge dating. But, I think casting Matt Dillion for the husband would have made more sense, and the woman should be at least years younger than Kate or almost or more attractive than Kate. The woman he was with wasn't that attractive compared to Kate, which makes sense if you look at Schwimmer, but didn't make much sense that he'd leave Kate for her. I'd understand it if they didn't have a terrified son at home. But,they had a son to look after. I don't think that would happen in real life.

2. The movie drags on a little more than it should.

3.The assasination scene could be better. I'd rather have a shot from the back while she was unaware rather than a face off, while the shooter looked really suspicious. Nothing she could do at that point. But, I also think it'd be easier for the unexperienced assasin to shoot her from the back.

Other than these ,there weren't much that bugged me...
I think the ending was brilliant.
Here's my take on why she went all that trouble to do what she did..

1.Journalists integrity.

2. Would anybody take her seriously if she revealed that her source was a child? She was also selfish in a way. It's not all about protecting the confidentiality..

3.After what happened to the spy, it'd make sense that she's want to protect the child even more..

I don't think it because of a single reason. There were many factors and she was also a little bit of a hypocrite .She didn't protect only the integrity of the source, but the whole time she was also protecting herself. So, I get that they made Schwimmer cheat on her to get the end of the stick, but I think he was miscasted for the role. Not a miscast as the faithful husband, but a miscast for the cheating husband.
