The plot...

reminds me of 'The Stepford Wifes'.

It seems derivative of a number of movies. It’s like I have the impression that I’ve already basically seen it around 5 times before

reply

Yeah, I have the same feelings too. But, hey, Oliva Wild is in it, so I might give it a go.

I'm getting a Fallout vibe. A lot depends on the secret is. If is just a rehashed, same old, same old, that would be kinda of boring.

If it is something actually original, or... cool, that could make the movie.

reply

I just saw it. My thoughts were Stepford hits the 21st Century.

reply

Thank you for the confirmation. Is it worth watching?

reply

It's not great but also not the worst movie I've ever seen. My wife liked it more than I did.

reply

Maybe I'll watch it in a few years or more. I'll put it on my "b" side watch list. Thanx!

I didn't like the Stepford wives at all, the old one, or the newer one.

I definitely enjoyed this movie. It's a bit slow, and pacing isn't quite polished. But it's beautifully shot. Great acting by everyone (except Styles, imo). Pugh is wonderful (though her performance is a bit derivative of her Midsommar role, which isn't really her fault...). Wilde and Pine have smaller parts but they're great. This is actually the first movie where I've seen Pine and been like, oh...he can act pretty well actually.

It's not spectacular, or the greatest movie of its kind; the story just isn't that impressive. It's sort of a...psychological thriller-lite. It's simple, but it gets the job done. I'd say like a 6.5-7/10.

Thank you for your perspective. Cinematography is something my eye catches.
I'm putting it on my watch list.
