Sam's hanging corpse and Greg falling

In this film, we see Greg and Cath discover Sam's corpse, hanging where it was before.

Cath then jumps onto the body, and tries to swing across, but then a Crawler gets Greg and he falls down below, which is where Juno fell and into water. I know she had to climb up the wall a bit, and then almost fell but Sarah grabbed her, but as Greg is one of the rescue specialists, even if he doesn't have any gear (can't remember if he did or not) but wouldn't he have had training and at least be strong enough to pull himself up, maybe even better than Juno and climb up to the part where she did?

Because if so, then he could have potential escaped, as like we saw in The Descent, it didn't seem like the exit was that far away (depending on which version you watch, I am from the UK so the final scene in it shows Sarah alone with no way out, but I still believe that there is a way out near that area).

So then, if there was a The Descent Part 3, he could potentially return. I wouldn't care either way as his character was pretty minor and not hugely developed.

But what did you guys think? Did you notice this?

He sacrificed himself because he was dying anyway, he had his throat ripped open. So even if he survived the fall, he would have bled out and died from his throat wound.

I didn't see him having his throat ripped open.
I thought a Crawler just jumped up onto him and he then fell down over the edge.

Cath was hanging from Sam's corpse and a female crawler jumped onto her. Greg had his throat ripped open by a crawler he then killed with a drill of sorts. Then he jumps onto the female crawler and pulls her off of Cath and they both fall, leaving Cath hanging from the corpse alone. We see Greg near the end when he grabs Juno's leg, causing her to scream, which alerted the crawler. This happens right after the deer is lowered into the cave. Now, we don't see Greg again after this.

You're correct

I don't remember Juno falling down there. I remember it being really steep when they threw the rock. I don't see how he could have survived the fall even if his throat wasn't cut.

He did survive, he fell in the water, you see him at the end of the film.

A goof/mistake: Juno fell into the water pretty fast.... but Greg dissapeared into the darkness + there was no sound of him falling in the water... the waterlevel isn't that low in the first movie, but in the second part it is.
