Who are you? (What type of person likes this show)

Since not enough people have voted yet for stats to be available I was just wondering who it is thats watching this show.

I have a sneaky suspicion that its going to be mainly 'youngish' males but if I'm wrong please feel free to crucify me for my sexism.

Personally I'm a man *grr*

Im not sure if thats actuatlly the case though, because the Simpsons says that its still awaiting five votes and that just can't be true.

It probably needs about a hundred votes or something.

I'm 16 and a girl, and I love this show!

reply

I'm 37...too old to risk competing.

I'm married and a lucky father of two. I would do this in a heartbeat if I could. I envy them...It's a really great show, a once in a life time expirience!

My husband and I watch this show, it's great. We're 40. My hubby totally envys these guys too, and wished he could have got to do something like it. I can say with pretty much confidence, he could've done it too, back in the day. But it's a great show. Go Rajko!! Although Jason is pretty hot too.

tennage american male. too big of a pussy to compete. maybe in 10 years?

this show just started here in new zealand yesterday, and i have to say i am happy to see such a awsome show like this.
mix martial arts, unknown fighting ways in a land that hides itself from the world and 6(or 3) of britains strongest fighters going up to test their strength.
and what makes it better is that its all real and not scripted like most reality shows.
i like this because im a martial arts fighter aswell.

im a maori boy =p
white girls like me =p
but i can kill u if u hurt me >/

and personally i'm not surprised that you think that your suspicion is sexist

I am in the exact same boat as Pengfive, except that I'm 35 (but also married, with two great daughters, and I would REALLY have liked to compete in something like this about 12 years ago!).

My wife and I have wildly different tastes in television, but one day I convinced her to watch this show; she was sure it would suck (since it isn't Gray's Anatomy, Oprah, or The Bachelor) but much to her surprise she really enjoyed it. I think that was due in large part to the eye candy (her main complaint was "Why do they have five hot guys and then Corey?") - but I think she found it interesting beyond the "hotness".

im not even really big on athletics, but i like how on the show they get into the culture of the tribes. thats probably what interests me most, along with the very attractive contestants. haha.
i cant watch the episodes on thursday so i record them on the dvr on discovery HD and then ill catch up over the weekends. its definately an interesting show, and im excited for the 2nd season.
discovery channel was already great, and this show makes it even better.

reply

I'd be a liar if I said that I was into the show for pure sportsmanship.

I think the shirtless males competing in rural environments really got me glued to the TV. Adding on the endearing and handsome Richard, you've got a dedicated watcher.

I do love the competitions, but I find my interesting waning if Richard or Corey loses early... which is often. hahaha. I never turn it off or change the channel, I stick till the end.

like tonight? when Richard wasn't allowed to compete... sucks but he did keep his shirt off ;D

thats my reasoning also lol

reply

oooooh yeah!

i really loved the log running race. i mean... look at that!

on the website for discovery channel, if you hit this one link, you see richard in this wrestle/shove pose with another guy. his abs are RIPPED!!! i want to do my laundry on it.

my friend showed it to me, at the same time we both turned our head and sighed... it looks even better if you turn your head.

if possible.

I was obviously very naive at the time. The majority of people who watch it seem to be female
