I definately agree with you, this was a kind of Guy Ritchie type movie without the comedy which I feel only enhanced it further...GREAT FLICK

reply

i think that was the essence.... it was a "no holds barred"
movie... so, "Guy Ritchie without the comedy" is a perfect way
of describing it... so now i think i understand why many dint like it...

what???????? drawing far too many correlations and conclusions. guy ritchie doesnt write/direct movies that have more holes than swiss cheese

You have got to be joking!! This film isn't worth 0.8 nevermind 8.
It was a complete waste of time watching it and the only time I've ever felt the need to write a review about a film on here.

reply

I would say it is underrated just a little bit. I gave it 7 only because some scenes were really boring and overacted at the same time. But the whole thing was very watchable and deserves 8. BTW, it has not much to do with movies like ronin, heat etc. (somebody tried to recommend those over this one- it just stupid thing to do) These are different movies and The Crew is for narrower group of viewers.

Not to mention that the budget for this was probably about the same as it was for the catering on Heat and Ronin.

I've never seen so much pointless whingeing about a film as I have on this board. As for comparing it with anything that tosser Ritchie made, forget it.

You would have to be some sort of idiot to compare this film with Ronin or Heat. It would be like going to your kid's school play and walking out half way through because it didn't have West End production values!

It's a low budget movie with most of the filming on location. Location filming is expensive and very often you only get to run through the scene, have a couple of takes and that's it, on with the next scene. De Niro is a great actor but he has the opportunity to spend a whole day getting a scene right making for a better quality film.

Watch The Crew for the storyline and respect the actors who did a good job with what they had to play with in bringing it to life.

I agree, this movie is very underrated. Despite it being a little difficult at times to listen the dialogue due to thick accent, the cinematography, location shots and realistic scenarios made this movie believable.
