questions about the relationships (spoilers)

OK. I enjoyed the film - certainly it was better than average. But I must admit there are a few things I didn't quite understand. If you haven't seen it don't read this cos there are spoilers in the questions (and almost certainly in any answers that get posted).

First of all, were Ged and Ratter brothers? I thought the argument at the barbecue was Ratter taking the piss cos that was just a lie they used.

Yes.

Secondly, were Ged and Francis brothers? I kind of thought that was being revealed at the torture scene in the woods.

No.

Third, what was the relationship between Ratter and Paul? Were they lovers? Paul was clearly gay (or at least bi), but what about Ratter? And when Ratter went to meet the tough guy ("you're hard man to find") did the guy grab him by the nuts or something? I thought that was weird.

Paul wasn't gay. Just because you let some smackhead suck you off doesn't mean you're gay. And no they weren't lovers.

Finally, what was the piece of paper Francis gave Ged at the communion party? Clearly it somehow identified where the con-couple were, so Ged could get his revenge. But what was it, and how did Francis find out where they were?

The piece of paper was what you think it was. And Franner found out where tey were because he's a 'big time' scouse gangster with a few connections.

First of all, were Ged and Ratter brothers?
They were not blood relatives, Geds mother took Ratter in when he was a little boy, so they grew up in the same household and considered each other family.

Secondly, were Ged and Francis brothers?

No, they were not brothers. Ged took Franners under his wing when they were kids, this gave an otherwise bullied Francis a bit of status which in turn eleviated the bullying, thus Francis loved Ged in a brotherly fashion and would do anything for him.

Third, what was the relationship between Ratter and Paul?

They were just friends who shared a passion for acts of a more deviant sexual nature, no attraction on either part to my knowledge.

Not sure on the last question as i havent seen the end of the film, bit of paper thing isnt mentioned in the book.
