Kid didn't work

Didn't like the kid in this movie at all. They probably needed a younger boy, first and foremost. Second, it looked like the boy didn't try to act, he wasn't compelling in any scene.

In the script he was meant to be 9 and was described as

Down on the vast lawn below, DANNY, 9, plays with a DOGO ARGENTINO -- a large, ferocious-looking dog. Danny’s lack of fear lives right alongside his innocence.
