**SPOILER** ending of the movie

David peeks in the window and sees Amy sitting on the couch with the two brothers standing over her. Roy is pointing a gun at her. Right before Roy fires the gun, David pulls the power switch from outside and the lights go out. Amy quickly reacts and dodges the bullet, crawling on the floor to escape as the brothers try to find her in the dark. Amy grabs a fireplace rod and knocks Jared unconscious with it.

Roy continues to search for Amy and sees her reflection in the mirror as she sneaks around. Thinking it is really her, he fires the gun and it shatters through the mirror, hitting and killing his brother who has awakened behind it.

The police use chainsaws to cut the tree and remove it from the blocked road. The male and female police officers are now approaching the house.

Amy runs up the stairs and tries to reload her gun. Roy reaches her and prepares to shoot her. Amy fires the gun twice, but there are no bullets. The third time the gun fires and Roy is shot in the shoulder and falls down the stairs. He is unfazed. He begins to stand up and the male cop suddenly shoots him dead.

Amy and David embrace and David decides she can take care of herself after all. Amy and Baxter the cat begin to get along and she decides to live with Baxter happily ever after. David leaves with Amy in an ambulance.
