gross and pedophillic should be banned

No one can defend the pedophilia in this. If you defend this you're a pedophile, and you no it.

Whats even more gross is that the "adult" producers to this didn't even think

the age difference was a problem.

Would like to see how they react to their 16yr old kid making out with a 26yrd

old adult man acting or not.

pe-do-phil-i-a
–noun Psychiatry. sexual desire in an adult for a child.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Where most people go wrong is calling everything and anything "child porn" but in this film, if the 26 year old desires a 16 year old, it is by definition, pedophilia.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually no, you are incorrect. In psychiatric texts, child is defined as a pre-teen (pre-pubescent) and generally seen as under 13 years old.

What you are describing is called Ephebophilia, the sexual desire in an adult for an adolescent. An adolescent is a teen who has reached puberty and is usually consider to be from 13 or 14 to 18. Ephebophilia is not considered a psychiatric disorder as Pedophilia is.

The problem most people make is US laws in some states like California have set the age of consent to 18 (other US states have different ages with some being 16 or younger; some other countries also have younger age of consent laws as they realize teenagers do have sexual desires). These laws vary widely by jurisdiction, with some using child and minor in the law's description. One must read the definitions defined in each law for which is used and its meaning. California uses minor to refer to under 18, but in some parts of the penal code specifically uses other ages such as a minor under 12 years and a minor under 16 years.

Some laws--whether US federal, US state or other countries--refer to a child as under 18 years of age, which is where the confusion originates. One must look at the definition used by that law, just as one must look at the definition of child used by the Psychiatric Associations that defined pedophilia.

omfg.... its a MOVIEEEE. not real life. who cares about the pedophilia or Ephebophilia what ever it is in this... its not like they really want to have sex with each other...

I'm in the theater club at my school and 2 people on the cast of our last musical had to kiss each other... its not like they like each other they both had people they were dating...

and now... if you want to talk about pedophilia... talk about Miley Cyrus and the rumored boyfriend of hers.

Now, I did not see the whole movie, but do they ever say what they're ages are in the movie? And if the OP is going by their present, real-life ages, then a lot of the shows on tv would be off because of this. Say, Beverly Hills, 90210, a lot of the actors on there were under 21 when it started, in fact the person that played Dillon was the oldest of all of them in real-life, but he was Brenda's love interest isn't that pedophilia going your standards, which aparently are very skewed.

I however, view this movie for what it is, a MOVIE! And these are people playing characters! In fact you sound like the people of the world that try to force their opinion on everyone else, like, "The school Christmas program is biased towards Christians, it disassociates other religions. So I will boycott it until they cancel it completely!" Instead of giving the children and their families the option to participate or not. Or even Aah, how about a religiously neutral program?

Na, you wouldn't do that, because you've been labotamized, naturally.

I guess I'm a pedophile then

Well, Everyone is entitled to an opinion. however, Your opinion is based on a movie. meaning in REAL life, is this were to happen a 16 yr old and a 26 yr old i would have to agree, gross and pedophillic. BUT this is "movie world" meaning its a "movie" make believe. If you think its sending a wrong message then thats you, but I don't see how because in the MOVIE she is 15 or 16 and he is 16 or 17 their CHARACTERS fall in love and kiss. KISS by the way which is not the end of the world its a KISS! now you reeeally wanna complain about something then watch the 1997 version of Lolita. AGAIN, its only a movie, which only MATURE people should watch, because its very deep and intense. now in this movie the girls character is actually 14 and hes like in his 30's or something. so do you see the difference now? Its called acting, a job, WORK. PROFESSIONALS. maybe you should grow up a little before making the assumption of things you dont even understand.

He may be twenty-six in the real world, but in the film he is eighteen. She is sixteen and a minor, yes - but since they are playing two teenagers who fall in love. While it would be disgusting in the real world for a twenty-six year old and a sixteen year old to even kiss, in the film they are around the same age. This happens all the time in television and movies. If you think this film promotes pedophilia then don't watch "Interview with a Vampire" - Kirsten Dunst as an eleven year old kisses Brad Pitt who is in his twenties at least. If you spend enough time searching for pedophilia in film and television, you're going to find it. By your definition many films should be banned. It's kind of ridiculous.

Wow, if some of you people think this about THIS movie, go check out Leon The Professional: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110413/

Come on people it is a MOVIE! He was going back to HIGH SCHOOL to do his senior year so obviously he was playing a 17 or 18 year old. It sounded like she was in her junior year as she was hoping to go to a performing arts school the next year. Also at one point it mentions that she would have to stay with Dominique for another year if she didn't get the scholarship. So she would have been playing either 16 or 17. The age dif wouldn't have been more than a year and a half!

By the way many of the things people find more questionable in this film were taken out when shown on the Disney channel.

Get a grip people there is a difference between real life and movies, they were playing a part!
