I actually like it
I assumed this would be a pretty bad indie but I was surprised how much I liked it. Definitely better than I expected. And the surprise gay story was very cool, and sexy!
shareI didn't really have any expectations due to the low IMDB rating (5.4) but I was surprised. Maybe I was in a mood but I thought the depth of emotion between the characters was sexy. The relationships weren't just about sex they seemed to be about knowing someone, accepting them and having a connection with them and then wanting to be closer to that person.
I have to admit that when the credits first started rolling I kind of flipped and threw my pillow at the TV in a disappointed rage. Once the tinge of red cleared however, I could see that the cliffhanger ending wasn't so bad. Whatever came after the fade to white would have torn the characters apart and enveloped them in an overwhelming amount of drama. I think the story was there to drive the plot and the movie along but the movie was really about the (love) connection between the characters. I thought the connections were drawn with extreme sensitivity and forethought. One of my favorite parts was the look on Marta's face when Greg tells her he feels the hurt in his heart.
The actors weren't bad looking either. :)
My final vote is somewhere between a 6 and 7. But I have to admit it's not a movie for everyone at any time. I think for me, it came at just the right time to have the most impact.
