You know it's a well-written movie when the Ghouls -- you know, your main villains and the guys who have made it a point through the ENTIRE movie to ALWAYS kill whoever they attack right on the spot...
I'm talking about ripping off a victim's face...
Pulling off their limbs and waving them at the victim...
Gouging out their eyes or ripping off their jaw bones...
Yanking out and eating intestines...
...FINALLY get the upper hand on the Druid hero late in the film and just as he's about to rescue the girl and ruin their master plan...
...And yet for some reason NOW they only "rough him up" a bit and decide to just leave him laying on the road badly bruised. You know, that ONE GUY WITH THE ENCHANTED KNIFE WHICH IS THE ONLY THING THAT CAN KILL THEM -- which they ALSO don't even bother to take away from the guy. All so he can come right back and mess up their plans AGAIN.
Apparently the Ghouls took lessons in defeating a hero at Dr. Evil's School of Villainy.
From ED WOOD...
