Not very good so far

I'm bored of AEW already. Every week is the same. Lots of pointless tag matches, suicide dives, near falls, multiple finishers and still kicking out at a two count, an overrated women's division, and I could go on. The main event scene with Jericho and Cody has been okay, but the other 1.75 hours of the show absolutely sucks and it will not be getting better because the problems with the show and AEW brand are inexplicably the reasons people watch the show to begin with, namely the Young Bucks and the Lucha Bros (and their imitators with a generic high-flying indie style) whose wrestling style had a best before date of more than a decade ago.

And it's strange that they make fun on the WWE brand while replicating a lot of the absurd and stupid things that WWE has done over the years like featuring midget wrestlers, wrestlers with supernatural powers, a seemingly never-ending 'women's revolution', and etc.

I suppose AEW is 'better' than WWE, but who cares? It still sucks in its own right, and I don't see how this is going to be financially sustainable for more than a few years. Right now there's a lot of hype, but eventually the ratings will drop, attendance at Dynamite and PPV shows will dwindle, and when the Khans start losing their money the plug will be pulled.

If you don't already, you should listen to Jim Cornette's podcast or follow him on twitter....he is merciless on AEW!

I haven't really been watching/following wrestling for a few years now, but I decided to give AEW a chance and I've been following Impact on and off depending on who is on the roster and etc.

I know Jim Cornette of course, but I haven't listened to him in quite a while and I'm not familiar with his opinion of AEW. I'll see what he has to say about it. However, I saw that new NWA Youtube show that Cornette is working on now and I wasn't too impressed with it, so I don't think Cornette has all the answers either when it comes to creating a good wrestling show.

I was a pretty hardcore wrestling fan from late 86 until 2001. After the Monday night wars ended I slowly fell away only checking in occasionally. Today I don't know who at least 80% of the roster is. But I do still check in on something if it's getting a buzz and I like following some of the old school guys and hearing what they have to say and Cornette is (if nothing else) entertaining. I saw a few minutes of his NWA show on youtube and liked what I saw, but that may be because it took me back to the look of the NWA studio shows on TBS from the 80s.

Listening to Cornette on about AEW's use of Marco Stunt was pretty hysterical....and at least IMO pretty accurate based on what I've seen of the guy.

I grew up in the 90's watching VHS tapes of random WWF shows, and then I started watching Raw when I was a bit older sometime around 2000. I quit watching in 2003 because it was already starting to suck then, and then I started watching only the PPVs again starting with TLC 2012, then started watching fewer and fewer shows, then only Wrestlemania, and now literally nothing. I have heard that there was some major controversy surrounding the recent finish to HIAC, but I don't even know what happened because I can't be bothered to go check. I'm so done with wrestling. Now I've been watching Impact on and off like I said, but after last week's debut on AXStv I'm less inclined to watch it again for a few months because it seems they are going in the direction of having Tessa Blanchard fight Sami Callihan for the world title which is just stupid. I hate intergender wrestling even when there are no titles on the line, and this is really a poor way to debut on their new network.

The NWA show seemed like they were trying too hard in a way. The audience seemed to be too predictable, almost as if there those "applaud" signs in the studio telling them when to cheer and when not to. I like the format of doing a promo at the podium, but it seemed like the wrestlers were trying to act like it was the 80's again. I think a modernized version of that classic format would be good. I might give it another look in the future.

I have no listened to his AEW stuff, but recently started listening to his antics on YouTube. He's funny.

I will say this. AEW has got me watching wrestling again. I have been watching both Dynamite and Raw/Smackdown (sporadically). I have been trying NXT too. AEW is fresh, new, and different from WWE, which has struggled compared to the past.

But I don't disagree with some of your criticism and while it's responsible for bringing me back, their fans are obnoxious as shit. They think AEW invented wrestling and is the best product the industry has ever seen. Their champion is Kenny Omega for fuck's sake. He's amusing and a good heel, but Kenny Omega?! This is not some marquee name. He's not a huge draw. Again, he's a funny heel, but the guy is a life-long mid-carder imo. He screams perennial Intercontinental Champ. But he's the face of their franchise.

The Bucks are good in the ring, but the whole "Elite" thing is kind of laughable. A bunch of 180-200lb guys are the big threat in the company. Ok...

And there's a fair amount of botches. Luchasaurus fucks up A LOT. As do some of the other high fliers.

AEW fans just like that WWE is getting pressure. They're the kind of people who always root for the underdog. They are anti-authority and will root against "the boss" or the big name regardless of who is putting out the better product. The fact that someone is challenging "the bad guy" is appealing to them. They are rubes and shills.
