Pakistanis built the taj mahal?

Actor: " you know the taj mahal?"
actress: "oh yes, I love it"
Actor: " yes, we built it."
actress: "oh! then why did u build it in india and not pakistan?"
Actor: " well...because we were the same country back then."

I'm thinking by "we" he means muslims. because he also talks about "we" being in spain for 600 or something years. But that was a stupid comment that showed how dumb the filmmakers are...... India has a greater number of muslims than pakistan does so It cannot be assumed that India is a country for hindus alone. Please don't bring political debate into it by mentioning how suppressed the mulims in India are....... because that is clearly not my point.

Didnt u see how the conversation between them started?
And he said we built it because according to historical facts, Pakistan was made to provide Muslims of sub continent a separate homeland where their rights were safeguarded.
And India there is no Muslim government, Muslims are a minority. In Pakistan Muslims are in majority so muslims are the ones making the government.
Actually u didnt see the whole crux of the scene.
In the end she handed him ustad nusrat fateh ali khan's cd suggesting that this man had made a name for Pakistan, the world knew Pak cauz of him, it was like a lil tribute to him, its his voice that runs in the background when shan looks at the cd.

Why do you sound like a rotten egg? There is no point in getting so boiled up about something so petty as that taj mahal thing. It was all in humour and has nothing against the Indians. Does the actor say anything, that by any means, seems a degrading remark or Indian bashing? It's just the way you perceive things, you want to argue, you to think that the movie is biased, stupid, lame etc etc then please go ahead its not our fault you are parochial, always stuck in your small world.

Please people don't make IMDB at least as a PAK-INDIA battleground..We Pakistanis watch Indian movies and appreciate them.I myself watched Rab ne Bana Di Jodi thrice in cinema and Ghajini too and asked people to see them..A good movie is made for entertainment and we should appreciate it.Its only form of art which has no boundaries..

In KHUDA KE LIYE there was not a single issue which was tackled relating PAK-INDIA or other such common problem..It was much more great movie dealing with much more sophisticated issues like south Asians living in England, The hatred and targeting of U.S.A against muslims post 9/11 and biggest of all, the false concept of Islam spread by Mullas..We should understand that in Pakistan it was a great attempt and appreciate it..

Taj Mahal belongs to India, and we accept it..Its a fact 60 years back we all lived in Hindustan and were Hindustanis and now we are Pakis....Try to understand the point and don't go into debates which have already created differences..

indians are coming in forces to kill kashmiris, the jihadis kill the locals!!

how ironic is that??? sure the military has done some mistakes in kashmir, they killed some civilians, we accpet that, no one is perfect, but kashmir is no genocide like palentine and isreal,

if that was so, india would have crushed pak in 1971 and never looked back, we didnt, coz that was the right thing to do...

now due to terror india is becoming a scared and very very violent nation, people want blood, BUT STILL india hasnt attacked PAK, like USA attacked Afgans after 9/11

Another person who is trying to be MICHAEL MOORE at imdb forum of a movie..If you go at the top of the post.see what i wrote,This is not a place sir to fight on India/Pak matters..We should stick to the movies,and if you want to debate,then we should comment on movie which are PAK-INDIA tension related and believe me from bollywood or pak, I hate them...This forum is about KHUDA KE LIYE and it even doesnt touch the topic of Pak vs. India..its a great movie and we should appreciate the points it raises..Thats it...If we start criticism on movies based on inter-nation tension than these forums are so short for them sir..I watch a lot of Indian movies, recently I watched Ghajini thrice..The point is, MOVIES ARE FOR FUN...LET THEM BE...

Regarding your excuses related to who is terrosist and who isnt..90 % posts of this movies are spoiled just due to the reasons not related to the movie but Mumbai Attacks, Marriot Attacks...etc etc...there are a lot of other places for them...lets discuss these things there...At least movies have kept us together since we separated in 1947..Let it be that way..

One concept in the movie is a ripoff, but not the movie itself. The movies are very different other than the central concept.

Yep, that was a funny scene. If only we on the subcontinent learnt to laugh at ourselves a little more, there would be no need for a movie like this.

@ Sahily: Well I would like to answer or you can say it as explanation that Pakistan was the second Muslim state (piece of land) which got independence on the name of Islam after the "Madinah Munawara" back in Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)era.
So it "we" does not relate to India/Pakistani muslims or anything else.....its all about "the Muslims".
I believe, I try my best to convince you.

When the actor says "we" in this dialog, he means we as in we muslims, not as in we pakistanis. For most of the Pakistanis, religious identity is as much if not more important than national identity. Now can you agree with me that "we" muslims built the Taj Mahal ?
