I, too, felt Seiko overdid it. I had to think this through because Kenny's comment about "$300 tracks" was deliberately insulting, and I had to wonder why he would be so rude. My conclusion was that Seiko wasn't the only one who put serious effort into the date, and her overreaction probably embarrassed Kenny. What a ridiculous reason for two young people to come apart - wet hair. She would be beautiful no matter what her hair looked like. She could have told Kenny, nicely and in private, to be more careful because she worked hard to look nice for their date.
A good example would be a scene from the movie "The Notebook". In it, the two lovebirds' nice canoe trip ends with sudden, torrential rainfall. Her carefully coiffed hair now soaking wet and clinging to her face, her mascara running, what does she do? She laughs.
As a black woman, I know the importance of our hair being dry. Still, if your life is so fragile that you can't handle a simple unexpected turn, what kind of fun can you be for other people? The most attractive women take such things in stride.
EDITED TO ADD: Still, Kenny didn't have to be so rude.
