This show's pretty cool. I would love to know how he does that.

God took a beating at the box office this weekend.

There's so much editing you can't tell how he does it, and that doesn't make the show very good, it appears too much like magic (which in some ways it is). It takes most of the believability away.

This guy is friggin amazing! I can't believe that he was able to pay for the stuff he took with blank sheets of paper. When he did the thing with the conductor & the orchestra, the song Ode to Joy popped in my head before they started to play the song. I thought it was funny that 1 guy he was asking directions & he got the guy to hand over his watch, wallet, & cell phone. Took the guy 5 seconds to realize what he'd done. I can't wait to see what he does next week.

LOL yes, the thing with him guessing how much paper money someone has in their wallet IS just a magic trick, not a mental trick.

Good illusionists can make you believe anything.

But just think of it this way...

Could YOU guess how much is in your wallet right now within one dollar? Unless you recently counted, I doubt it.

I tried and I was wrong..and I'm me...I think!

So how could he? He can't, it's a magic trick that any advanced magician could do.

Or he can try it with 20 people, get 17 wrong, and only put the 3 that he got right into the show.

There's a way to do a similar trick, where you make a prediction, then you have someone name a number and they (should) match. Not that hard to do - BUT you have to have control of the "prediction" at some point AFTER their number is revealed (someone earlier in the thread mentioned one way it could be done). I don't see the prediction envelope leave the person's hand at all - unless Derren does take it back at one point, but they edit that out - which is entirely possible, and would explain it.
