Ok I haven't seen the show yet and I don't know exactly what he does but this kind of crap just bothers me because if I had the ability of mind control I wouldn't let people know and I would use to my advantage... I don't know that's just me...

I think he does it to prevent people (like you, as you've just admitted) from abusing it and warning people to its effects.

or he could create television shows and make millions... with the security of it being for television so he can kinda get away with anything...
And yah, if u look at it logically... if he was to keep it to himself, he would def have a mind control power... taking it to tv, either way, real or fake, would make the guy money... and do it doesnt really matter.

But this show makes me think, how far hollywood producers are going to push this... reality television show thats just science fiction fake. (i've never seen ghost hunters but i'd imagine...)

I know it's based in lies. I know this... I was simply stating that even if it WAS true, which they claim it to be, why would you tell people about it? I just asked that question because there are people out there who believe in this crap and it disgusts me. I don't know why, it just does... probably the same reason I can't stand to watch Chris Angel or other jackasses like him. I guess I hate to watch my fellow brethren being duped . Trying or not, you are succeeding. COme on, the stuff on the show is HARMLESS. A few tricks to wow people. No one's being hurt, no one's being swindled. It's all fun.

This isn't magic. This isn't magic. This isn't magic. The point was already made, that he can make a hell of a lot more money on a tv show than peddling his wares on the streets. Does this concept elude you?
It isn't about being "weak minded" or any of your other sad views on your "brethren". There are tricks to our minds. There is a reason why you can look at a book of magic eye tricks and always be fooled by it. Every human mind takes shortcuts and there are ways of exploiting that fact. Our minds are mechanical and can be steered. Certainly if you maintain control with conscious thought, your subconscious is on auto pilot. If someone manipulates your conscious thinking, you are left with auto responses to the things you aren't focusing on. That is where you can be "controlled". Once you become aware of manipulation you stop it, but the good illusionist will keep you fascinated with something else.
Would you have our minds as that of gods floating above reality in perpetual understanding and analysis? Do you find it so hard to believe our thought is grounded in reality and relies on precepts?
It's "must have", "should have", "could have", and "would have". For God's sake there's no "of".
I think some of you are missing something important, just because its called "Mind Control" doesn't mean he is ACTUALLY controlling people's minds, he just uses a lot of advance persuasive techniques that, if you have ever actually studied psychology/advertising/marketing, you would know exist. He doesn't have some "magical power."

try watching his other shows, they are all over the internet and he regularly explains what he is doing, and that its all a trick. such as the ones where he acts as a medium, does a seance, etc, in each one he shows that it isnt real. its all the power of suggestion or persuasion or whatever. skibum1080x and others are right, its psychology, and its very impressive stuff. if i could trick my workmates to go make me cups of tea all day i'd die a happy man.
as for the person who started talking about evolution on this thread, please tell me when derren brown ever did any show to do with evolution, creationism, or the whole debate between the two. thanks.

He can't actually read mind or whatever. He fuses Magic (as in tricks, not Harry Potter), Suggestion, Psychology, Misdirection and Showmanship to achieve the results of making it seem like he can do all of this stuff.
He is a very clever man, but nothing paranormal, he even admits that and agrees that the paranormal is (to quote you) "crap"
