the ending and hollywood cliches SPOILERS

i know this was based on a book but still... the old cliche would be the typical hollywood happy ending, then people got sick of those types of endings nd it became the norm to have the bittersweet ending or just the down right depressing ending. i was really not expecting to survive, i mean it turned the cliche of rebelling against the cliche on its head and ended up being really sweet and uplifting. i just thought it was really beautiful and it left me with a smile on my face. i love this movie.
