Kim Basinger is an absolute highlight of this movie. No one expects a "Watchmen" fan to appreciate it.
She has had so much botox done and infillers injected, that her face looks TOTALLY WEIRD....and she can hardly do 'realistic' face expressions.
Actually the worst actress I have ever seen is Michelle Williams in Deception (and she hasn't even got botox to blame).

In Batman? She did more screaming than talking.
It makes Batman hard to watch despite its being superbly well done in every other aspect.
Maybe she got a script that just had SCreeeEEch instead of dialougue for her lines but I doubt it. She didnt belong in there with Nicholson/Keaton.
Example: Michelle Pfeiffer as Selena Kyle/Catwoman now THAT was acting!

I thought she was wonderful in this. I agree she doesn't always get it spot on with her performances but this is definitely one of the great ones.
You can't state your opinion as fact and say 'she was horrid in this'.
Just watched it, and I must say Kim's shinning strong and effective melodramic performance impressed me, maybe her best acting among "The door in the floor", Charlize was brilliant also like always ....

She's a great actress. That scene where she was shaking while explaining about the cancer was v powerful. I'm not her biggest fan but you can't deny that she is good. Try watching LA Confidential.

I find her extremely weak. Bearable in L.A Confidential (worst oscar ever for an actor), ok in BPlains. But really low on most the rest (and I've seen her in 22 movies by now). Cellular, anyone? Cool World? Nadine? 1/10!
Apologies for those who love her... I too feel surprised every time I stumble into her being hired for a movie... so much better actresses in her age/type out there to cast...
Julia Roberts is the worst but Kim Basinger is a close second.

I agree about JR but I like Basinger...though her shiny pulled tight face was a tad distracting. I just wish the movie explained more, like why the hell was she so crazy about that guy?
share@ergye - U got that right. Julie Roberts is one of the worst actors, though not saying I don't like her movies. Same with michelle pfeiffer & kristen stewart, drew barrymore....
