The movie was very Selena Gonez-esque but it felt really strange to me to have Leighton and Katie as her two costars. Leighton played the older sister, ok makes sense. But they should've gotten someone more age appropriate to play the best friend.
It would've made more sence for the older sister and her BFF to travel to Paris and have the younger sister tag along.
to be fair, they made it clear in the film that Leighton and Katie were in the same year in high school. At one point not very far in, Leighton's character mocks Katie's character because she's best friends with an 18 year old. The best friend wasn't supposed to be Selena's age.

the older you get the less a few years difference in age matters when it comes to friends. You don't have to be friends only with people you were at school with.
