BAD

I know that I am going to be attacked about that but MY opinion was that it was a bad movie, (very) bad script and mostly bad acting except for the guy playing the old boyfriend and the little girl (sorry names did not stay engraved in my mind).
I watched it for S.D. (she failed to shine) and also because I love watching Christmas movies.

I totally agree with you. I am 40 minutes into it and I am debating if I should just cut my losses. I have never really seen S.D in anything (yes, I have never seen 90210),except Our House, but she looks kind of old I think. I LOVE her ex-boyfriend, though, who is in Men in Trees. He's the reason I am watching this movie but to anyone else, I would just pass on this one.

I watched the entire thing (I do the same with books I don't enjoy.... persevere and go all the way to the end). It never got better. On the contrary.
I thought that the beginning was better written then someone got really bored with the story and finished it in 5 minutes...LOL
I have never watched S.D. either or just clips here and there and I agree with you that she does look old for her age (although it has no impact on whether that would make this movie good or bad). The only problem is that she was supposed to appear like a younger woman and she did not fit the bill.

As I said, the only good acting was the little girl and her ex boyfriend. Well, the guy that double crossed her was not bad either. But the rest of the cast was very weak.

I agree with you : pass on this movie.

^Dude, calm down.

Anyway, yes, I did watch it for the SD factor (hehe, sorry, I see those initials and I think Scooby Doo). Not for 90210, which I've never seen, but for her part as Prue on Charmed. It was great seeing her in something again, and I personally love corny Christmas movies. The little girl was adorable - as all little girl actresses are.

But the whole thing did not keep my attention. I found myself switching between this and Ace of Cakes. The end was roll-your-eyes predictable. Of course she wouldn't go to jail, otherwise it wouldn't be a happy Christmas movie! Although I did find it funny that Cate got a hardened criminal to help her break into people's houses to return gifts..

So, wouln't watch it again, but I can't say I hated it.

I have to agree with the OP. I love love love watching Christmas movies, and it was the first one of this season. I so wanted to turn it off - Die Hard, another Christmas Classic was on at the same time - but waited it out, hoping for a Christmas miracle, that somehow the script and acting was going to get better. But the ending was so unbelievable that I really regret that those are 2 hours I'm never going to get back. The only good thing I can say is that I've seen all the Christmas movies that have aired on TV.

I also agree that SD looked incredibly old for her age, and I mean her real age - 37 when the movie was released.

The Christmas movie season is just beginning, so despite this unfortunate flick, Merry Christmas to all!

Woa.. haha.. I didn't even remember that movie. But yes, now it's coming back to me and it was really weak.
Hopefully we will have some good Christmas movies this year (I am checking)
