How come no one knows about this film?

Luckily it was on Netflix or I wouldn't have even known it existed. It may have been a misprint but it said it's only earned $16,000. I thought it was a special film that touched on the conflict of believing you're educated (due to getting good grades in public school), and actually having the experience and wisdom needed to make good art. Emma was wonderful and I thought having her and Evan in one movie might be annoying but it wasn't. Also Cusack plays a good mentor/non-mentor who has better things to do yet sees something in a young artist. Sure it had its flaws but overall it's a pretty damn good film.

I thought this was a charming movie. It should be required watching for aspiring poets everywhere. ( Unfortunately, they probably can't afford Netflix because of their crushing student loans.) Thought John Cusak was particularly good but the female lead is beautiful and expressive also.

I agree with you, I also really liked this one. I thought it was gonna be more along the lines of the outrageously sexual dramedy that only the 'artsy indies' seem to get away with, but it was a lot less so, than I would've thought. Overall, I'm glad I watched it. In my opinion, a lot of low-budget indie films like these are a little strange and excessively quirky...they might be extra-flawed, too, but I don't think it takes away from an overall good experience, as long as the story or the characters are salvageable.

I've liked Emma Roberts as an actress for a while now, but she's always been a little plain/wooden to me. I like seeing her transition from mainstream movies to more indie stuff, I think it suits her. :)
