Look in the Remake thread for this movie...I posted I'd just discovered a 2009 American film titled Surprise! Surprise!, which seems to be incredibly close to what Patrik 1.5 is (and I loved Patrik...great movie).

Hm, try Flawless with Robert De Niro and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Or any modern day Swedish film. They are not necessarily similar to Patrik 1,5, but I have a slight sense of déjà vu each time I watch contemporary Swedish cinema. Swedes are obsessed with equality and integration even more than other Scandinavians and pretty much every film they make nowadays has to do with immigrants, homosexuals, criminals, outsiders/depressed teenagers and/or some other minority.
Not that I mind that in general, but it gets a bit repetitive...
