The ending (Spoiler obviously)

I'm not quite sure what actually happened. Everyone in the audience at the end, with the exception of Peter Blythe Smith (Stephen Campell-Moore) completely disappeared out of thin air. Are we to take it that the theatre was bombed (the film is set during world war two) and the people who disappeared became ghosts? I'm not sure what to make of it.

They were already dead, and were judged by their actions in the past and their actions in the present. Each of the stories told on the stage pertained to each individual and their particular lesson to learn. The character who started seeing things as they were was that of Benedict Cumberbatch. By the end, they all knew and were ready to accept the next step. The one who was not ready was Stephen who seemed to be destined to repeat the entire experience until he is also ready to accept the inevitable.
(the scene seen by them all was of the London bombings during WW2, which seems to have been how they all died)

Which stories do you think pertained to which person? I think the second tale alluded to Henry Clark's unwillingness to leave his wife behind. He's continually assures others (and thus himself) that she's coming, only admitting in the end that he and their children have to pass on without her. The others I'm not sure of. What is your opinion?
