What's wrong with you? Did you watch it all the way through?

Hannah:)

reply

Yes, i did watched it all the way through. Of course there were some illogic situations, but overall it wasn't as bad as advertised.

reply

Hahaha, whatever you say.

reply

Its nice that you agree.

This movie was crap.
I don't advise anybody to watch it.
Unless you have a thing for low budget, nontalented acting movies.

reply

Sorry. I gotta go with the "this movie is crap". I really tried to watch and like this mess. I only ended up wanting to jump into the movie and kill them all myself to get it over.

reply

I really don't care if it's a low budget movie, as long as it's creative.

But this time...it was a veeeeery boring movie...I know it might be a subjective opinion... but doing a movie that falls into several clichès is not a good sign...

It shows that they put a lot of effort, but really, if I knew beforehand, I'd only watch it if I was a friend of someone in the cast/crew only...

Well I do enjoy low-budget horror films and as they go it was not so bad.I do think most people would find it to be snooze fest though. The plot tends to get a bit confusing at times and it should have really been shorter to keep the pace tighter. However there were several very good actors and it has a few decent gore/make-up effects.Overall I gave it 4 out of 10.

I didn't think it was all that awful either, my issues were everyone was pretty decent acting but the main character (Samantha)! And then the chick in wheelchairs death scene is pretty cheesy. The others were actually good ESP the explosion. Anyway I think they should have hoe more in depth (but faster) with the little girl and the creepiness there. It was like that was the evil spirit but it just wasnt enough. It's like they keep seeing people die who try to leave but not ONE single person tries to break the curse! Even if they wanted to end it the same they could've atleast tried to do something that made sense like that instead of aimlessly running around and doing nothing productive whatsoever. There was no buildup or climax or resolution. I actually think had they tweaked it a lil more with these ideas it could've been a really great movie bc I liked the idea behind it and the creepiness factor that it COULD have been, oh if only :(

Just saw this movie and it isn't that bad. Kind of like a sorry ass Evil Dead with the monsters and all.

Some people are saying it was horrible while others are saying it isn't that bad. For those of you who say it isn't that bad, I get the feeling that you still think it's forgettable and not worth watching a second time. From my perspective, I get tired of movies that "are not that bad" or a weak version of a movie with a much better execution. These type of movies still suck anyway, even if they could be worse.

This movie was highly derivative of stuff done to death: ghost children; unsuspecting young people being killed off one by one; no cell phone service; characters saying, "Don't go out there" but character goes anyway; old files, newspaper clippings, and old photos that are years or decades old but look brand new used to tell the back story; character sees someone and goes off to investigate; protagonist keeps insisting the house is haunted but no one will believe them until it's too late; etc. They had the usual horror stock characters: slut, sensitive leading man, the jerk/jock, the weird chick, etc.

The characters also had a lot of convenient things going for them: conveniently had a first aid kit; conveniently all had flashlights; conveniently had matches; conveniently had an extra change of clothes that fit the almost-drowned chick; conveniently had a wheelchair; etc.

The movie also had a bunch of WTF moments. Not WTF as in funny or cool WTF. But WTF as in those moments were out of left field and jarred me out of the movie. WTF stuff that jarred me out of the movie:

1. Group of 7 people and only 1 person has a cell phone.
2. Why were the real estate agents daughter, the agent and his assistant, and the brother all riding in the same car?
3. Where did the electric wire come from? Where was it hanging from? I saw the gate at the beginning but don't remember any power lines where it can come from.
4. Why were those 6 people the only people who tried to visit Samantha in 9 months?
5. Why was Samantha allowed to live for so long?
6. The house is supposed to be uninhabited for decades but is strangely modern.
7. Despite her pale complexion and weird stare, Samantha looks surprisingly healthy for someone who has been trapped inside a house by herself for 9 months.
8. Where did those tall weeds come from? They are in the middle of a desert.
9. Why exactly did they go and try to find Samantha during the night? Wouldn't the daytime be better?
10. When the real estate agent and Samantha, the popular writer went missing, wouldn't there be a large scale investigation? If so, wouldn't all those cops be able to find her?
11. Why were they worried about the fact that they only had two matches left? They still had lit candles. Plus, what is up with the lame/weird way they tried to light the house on fire? Shouldn't they get all the paper together and just burn them in a huge pile instead of lighting the match, not taking care to cup it from the wind, and trying to light the end of a piece of paper?
12. I thought Samantha said anyone who tries to come to the house gets killed. If so, why didn't the cops at the end get killed?

I have many other things that jarred me out of the movie. But the biggest thing was the opening scene. It was so amateurishly done that I seriously considered stopping the movie within the first 5 minutes. That has got to be one of the crappiest opening scenes I've seen in a long time.
