Just in time for Xmas huge Halloween reboot news

Couple of sources are saying the following after reading one of the treatments

No Sam Loomis
No Laurie Stode or past cast characters

A colleague of mine from A-Bomb Horror reference the new Halloween reboot as being a Falling Down/Silent Rage type of film where young Michael who has been a tortured soul goes on a killing streak in Haddonfield, ILL with a hard driven Sheriff on pursuit.

"The treatment if they go with it, reminds me of Michael Douglas in Falling Down and the beginning of Silent Rage before Kirby becomes the Scientists guinea pig killer creation except, Michael in his mask and coveralls just snaps and goes on a killing streak across town until he finds college kids putting on a Halloween fright fest at an old abandon Hospital where we are introduced to a new heroine. The sheriff character is someone who I can see Cole Hauser playing. The plot is right in your face from beginning to end. Curious if they go with this how a sequel would be handled? Would we get introduced to a Sam Loomis?"

Sounds very promising
One resource mentioned a bus scene

"Oh the bus scene was very terrifying. I see a reference to the Tim Mclean incident where Vince Weiguang Li out of no where stabs Tim and beheads him. Scary fact is, Vince was deemed not criminally responsible and received mental health treatment and was granted freedom. Vince who changed his name to Will Baker is a schizophrenia who takes medication. He acted upon God he says when arrested. I see the character of Michael in such a way as being a schizophrenia so it's a very dark character. in this reboot and i see the writer tossing in left and right punches in past elements of crazy murderers for this reference"

Another source:

"Terrifying, the beginning is straight out terrifying. It really reminded me of the beginning of Silent Rage when Kirby character cracked, in this one, you get a reference scene from Black Christmas where in his bedroom, his mom comes in the room after no response and she notices he is behind the door with black shadow and his evil eye stare. The rest of the treatment does not let up. It does get quiet for character development when it jumps to a plot with College kids at a Halloween fright fest at an old abandon Hospital, but realistically it reminded me of an reenactment series on ID channel."

Another source

"The darkest and realistic Halloween film of all time. You thought joker was insane. A very disturbed developed Michael Myers. It grabs you by the throat right away and doesn't let go. We actually follow Michael's madness similar to the Joker. I love the sheriff character. He seems to be the protagonist of the film and the college girl is the new heroine. You soon find out what drives the Sheriff to his obsession on finding Michael. The reboot is titled Halloween "Rebirth" but can change to just Halloween. Very dark and demented film based on many realistic murderers. It seems the writer concentrated very much on past horror slashers and realistic murderers to give Michael an identity. Nothing supernatural about it, just very scary demented mind."

There you have it folks. I can't wait for Halloween 2023. More to come... Merry Xmas your pal The Horror Reporter.

Hi Bobby i had to re-edit some parts. I am telling you from sources this is a very Dark demented film with a lot of study to Michael's character that we never got despite Rob Zombie's development of Michael, this one you don't need dialogue, action is the terrifying concept of Michael's madness.

Halloween "Rebirth" 2023
