is there any merit to his scale?

Is there any real use of his scale except from himself?

While watching this show i get the sense that he invented it for some hope of fame and that they say he invented it to help science understand serial killers, how is placing someone on a scale, assigning a numer supposed to be of any use other than to try comparing and scoring the serial killers?

is this scale some sort of a standard so mundain that no one else even bothers mentioning it?

I have no problem with the name nor do I care about the use of the word evil in science since it's just a description, a figure of speech.

But what I really have an issue with is this "Ted Bundy only gets a frigging 17"
It's comparing apples to oranges and not a competition. The entire scale part of the show turns it from a nice documentary and cheapens it with science-fiction of the bad kind.

It's like the show Criminal Minds, I used to love the earlier season mostly because of the thrill due to it being "more realistic" than it turned out in it's later seasons where it's only about action and literally spelling everything out to the viewer.

To me "Most Antisocial" sounds more interesting.

I agree. Apart from all the flashy graphics and stuff, this show is done pretty well, the interviews and original recordings are interesting and he does seem to have real insight and to know what he's talking about. All of this falls apart every episode when his scale comes up and it becomes somewhat more sensationalyzed. Which is a shame, because without it this could be a good documentary show. But I guess you have to ponder to the TV executives to get at least 70 % of your concept on a programme...
