Spoilers Pharmacist talking to Mimouna

Undoubtedly there is a lot of antipathy towards North African migrants and their descendants in France. However I dont think the pharmacist telling Mimouna to take three yellow pills and two red pills a day was being racist as her son Karim said. Here in Britain pharmacists says this to customers of all races all the time. Firstly because the name of the medicines are long and complex and secondly because anyone in a position of authority in the UK especially in a white coat can be very patronising towards ordinary people.

The issue was not the simplistic description of the medicine to be taken but the form of address - the pharmacist used "tu" which in French culture indicates a close friendship or alternatively conveys a strong sense of superiority.

Thank you for clarifying! I speak French, but not well, so I end up reading English subtitles most of time. I hadn't noticed which form the pharmacist had used.
