Very poor adaptation

I thought this was a poor version of the classic story with bad over acting and modernized dialogue which didn't work. Why do they keep remaking this story? They will never improve on the classic 1948 David Lean version which in my opinion was the ultimate.

I saw the David Lean version on tv yesterday. A day after seeing this version. The 1948 is a classic. Very enjoyable. But I must admit that I like this version as well. Normally I don't like modern day vernacular in classic stories. But I didn't think that it was too intrusive in this version. I think Oliver Twist is Dicken's greatest story. And it deserves retelling with some invention. I think all the new twists in this version worked. I can watch this version and the David Lean masterpiece back to back quite happily.
