Kill Edward Monks!!!!!

It's really not fair that Monks (AKA Edward Leeford) didn't die. Sykes and Fagin both died, but Monks didn't, and that's just not fair.

Anyone agree with me?

In Victorian England, class and money counted for a lot. Edward had these - Fagin and Sikes didn't. Mind you, that hasn't changed much.

Don't you think the result of what he's done is worse than death? 'Cause in death you're just done, but when you live on you have to face consequences of your mistakes. Don't you think that's a more suitable punishment for him?

Monks was the real villain of the story. But of course the story tells of rough justice of the day. Just notice the way that grotty-looking judge decides on what sentence to bestow on the prisoner in the dock. Something like "How many people have I hanged this week?" I don't think poor Fagin should have hanged. But Bill Sykes had to die really.
