Well, I suppose it could have been worse. (Possible spoilers)

As a big fan of horror movies, I have watched more of them than I can probably remember, and I can say at the very least that this movie has some good points about it. To begin, the plot development is not bad nor is the character development terrible either. The biggest compliment I can give the film is that the characters acted intelligently.

Those of us who loves horror films are probably more familiar with the 'idiot characters' persona better than anyone (save for possibly comedy fans) and I'm just glad this movie managed to avoid that well.

But of course, there are criticisms to be leveled too. The main flaw of this movie is probably the lack of suspense. I can say that the two main reasons for this is probably because of the lightning and because of the ghosts.

To begin, the movie made viewers far too familiar with the ghosts. We've seen them up close and personal, heard them speak (in complete sentences too), and we've seen them kill people too fully (instead of in quick, mysterious fashion). This has the problem of making them seem human as opposed to ghosts. Then of course, there's the lightning.

The majority of the scenes in this movie is very well lit. From the boiler room to the the main room, everything is clear and visible. Whenever a killing is about to occur, you don't get an sense of thrill (i.e. being on the edge of your seat, as they say). It's almost as if you know when the killing is going to occur and, when it does, you're not blind sided.

Meh. Aside from these flaws, I did moderately enjoy the movie. It was a good romp for the night.
