Ok wait a minute...*contains spoilers *

DO NOT READ THIS POST IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE AND WANT TO! I DON'T WANT TO BE BLAMED FOR RUINING ANYTHING. AGAIN, THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! STOP READING NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING!

So the whole thing was a ploy just so the dude could *beep* his sister? Seems like a lot of trouble to go through just for incest...

That being said, it had good suspense and the incredible Norman Reedus plays a character you love to hate very effectively. I first saw him on The Walking Dead as Daryl Dixon and this was obviously a FAR cry from Daryl. Mac was a bad guy through and through and Norman played it perfectly. As much as I love him I was kinda happy to see his character die, he deserved it. That's a sign of a good actor. Although casting him as a rapist is very unbelievable, even with the *beep* up teeth. What woman in her right mind would say no to him? He could get Mother Teresa in bed. They should've got an ugly actor to do this part, but Norman did a great jobs despite his devastating good looks.

I just don't get why the main guy didn't do his sister when he had the chance if he really wanted to. Why wait eight years and have people die for it? That plot point didn't really stick for me. Was it the trauma of watching her get raped that made him want to rape her himself or was the desire there to begin with?

If anyone has some insight to shed on this, I'd be interested to know what people think.

I've never seen the movie but I've seen the trailer and some scenes and I know whats its about....and I agree he wouldnt have to rape anyone, especially me lol. Even if he had herpes and AIDS I'd still get with him lmao. Then again I've always been a Reedus fan from Boondock Saints. And he is great as Daryl Dixon...still a badass, but a kind and gentle one. I would take him any way shape or form. Bad guy, rapist, good guy, redneck hero...hes a God lol.

I'm getting fed up with him always being cast as white trash; Red Canyon, Octane/Pulse, The Messengers 2, Hero Wanted, Pandorum (ish). He is amazing and yet they seem to stereotype him! I want him in a romcom! Or a straight out comedy! x

I'd be happy to buy your copy if you're interested in selling it! I've been looking for a region 1 copy for quite a long time, big Norman Reedus/Mac fan :)

I don't have a physical copy of it, I downloaded it from the internet.

So first of all - Norman Reedus is the best and there hasn't been a single thing that I've seen him in that I didn't like (except American Gangster and that's only because he's in it for a minute). He can pull off so much and so different types of characters but he's said that he wanted to do this movie because Mac was so *beep* twisted and brutal. (He's also said that he can't see himself as a good guy per se so I doubt he'll be cast in a romcom).

As to the movie, the way I see it is that Devon couldn't do it in the cave because he was seeing Reggie as his sister. He might have been getting off on the violence of her attack and the rape but when it came down to it, he couldn't. He might have started to think of her as more than just his sister after the cave, manipulating her into needing his help with everything so he's always there. He's her protector and caregiver and everything. So who would think anything about a brother hugging and holding his sister if she's having a panic attack? He also seems to be the type who revels in controlling others and he's been controlling Reggie since the attack.

The deaths of Tom, Samir, and Terra come from when Reggie went to the cave to confront what happened to her. They all saw what was in the cave and brought in the Sheriff. They knew Mac was the cooker and all product had been confiscated. Walter's operation couldn't be shut down (he says that he has orders to fill and in the drug world, if you can't deliver you're royally screwed). So Walter orders Mac to clean up Devon and Reggie's mess by killing them off. It's just a perk that Devon gets to keep Reggie for himself since he is Walter's favorite son.

It's a sick and twisted movie that I enjoyed but I hated that Mac had to die.

Interesting take on it, I'm inclined to believe you. I didn't hate that Mac died though, he needed to lol.

Yes, Norman is a wonderful actor. It's funny he almost always plays such bad guys (with the exception of Daryl, who's a badass sweetheart) cuz I met him in February of this year and he's so sweet to his fans. He seems like a really cool guy and a good dad. I understand where he's coming from though, I'm sure it's a lot more fun to play a bad guy than a romantic lead, even though he's got the sex appeal for such.
