So many of these movies over the years starting from Deliverance and they basically all say the same thing. People that live out in middle of nowhere are psychotic inbreds. If you go exploring and go down the wrong path you will encounter people who will fck you, torture you and ultimately eat you for Sunday dinner. Do people who live in backwood areas enjoy these movies or do you feel insulted? Just curious.
shareRelax, surf. The people depicted in this sort of movie don't have a subscription to Netflix or probably even a DVD player. If they did, this movie would look a lot more like Scarface.
To be honest, it would be interesting to think what someone from the geographic region stereotyped thinks about this. It's a good quesiton. I remember reading about a photographer who took pictures of Appalachian folk, and it said they were more than willing to have their pictures taken with rotting farm impliments and scraggely chickens fighting in the background. Everyone needs to let their inner rockstar shake some booty oncve in a while.
