I really thought this was a pretty good horror film (spoilers)

...it was also nice to have the different setting of Tasmania. How often do films get made in Tassie?

I thought the acting was solid; the characters were well established; the story was pretty good and it didn't have the 'oh this is an Ostraaaaayn film' feeling to it. It felt like a propper Hollywood style film...it wasn't made on the cheap.

I also kind of like the fact the Australian films don't go for the Hollywood ending. Everyone dies...and horribly (insert evil laugh here).

I also enjoyed it. I agree with all points made. Plus, I love Leigh Whannell

Personally, I thought it was useless. I actually hate these types of movies, where the "good guys" all end up dead (or in a bad place). It doesn't even have solid production values to fall back on (like say Wolf Creek), so you're left with nothing but nihilistic junk.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a masterpiece, but I think for what it is, it is executed well. I also like the fact that it was filmed in a different part of Australia that many people (including Australians), have never seen.

I found it enjoyable for what it is.. not great by any stretch but for free with my amazon prime it was ok.

PROS:
Cool scenery
Nicely filmed
Melanie Vallejo!
Taz Tiger

CONS:
Really stupid acting characters with too many horror movie cliches to count

The loud mouth obnoxious friend character

The ole "stay here" while i try to start that ancient looking vehicle scene.. i mean *no-one* is going to do that in that scenario.

After the loud mouth gets crunched in the trap, his friend totally ignores the very handy crossbow his dying friend no longer can use.. hey, you're being pursued by friggin cannibals, grab the crossbow!

What person in the world is gonna let the cops leave in that situation without first making sure your car starts, and you are either in front, or right behind them? No-one.

I would have preferred it if the tiger had played a greater role.. maybe skip the cannibals all together and have it all be about the tiger, or maybe have the tiger waste some cannibals inadvertently saving some of the people or something along those lines

Love it too!
