I just saw this movie and can't stop thinking about it. It is so sad that politics and religion make strangers into instant enemies. In my perfect world, Eyal didn't go back to Israel. He stayed with Rana in France. True happiness over duty, love conquers all. But, that isn't the world we live in, how tragic.

Why did the film end with Eyal walking back in the door after showing the hopelessness of their relationship should he return to Israel? I choose to believe love did conquer all. Eyal returned to Rana avoiding the tragedy depicted before the closing scene where he walked back into Rana's apartment.
