About the ending and some other questions...

Nothing made sense in this horrible movie, especially the ending...

1) Why did Allen Shaw ride off into nowhere? I'd have thought he'd fess up to the Feds for closure, especially since his wife's kith and kin would be interested in her fate, along with the relatives of his buddy. Why wasn't he concerned about his buddy's wife?

2) Why were Susan Cohen and the girl hitchhiking when they had access to a vehicle? Billy should've had the keys on him and I doubt he'd have neglected to fill up the tank. Did either not know how to drive?

3) How did Billy 'Bones' Eady survive being shot? Even if the bullets missed anything vital, he looked too spry in the trailer with the creepy family.

4) Is Billy related to the creepy family and anyone notice Ray looking uneasy around 'em? Were these characters even necessary for the movie? What was their purpose?

5) Why was everyone in the area in cahoots with the duo? The corrupt sheriff and a few questionable types could strong-arm some, but it should have been given a bit more coverage. Why didn't anyone bother to use a phone? That lady at the diner was scared, but assuming she had a car, what's to stop her from driving away in the middle of the night to safety and then warn the Feds? Did Ray have spotters on the outskirts of his "domain" and/or had trails/roads mined, with him knowing the way in/out?

Maybe I'm thinking too much, but Comcast On Demand had this in the Action and Comedy sections and while the latter's a mistake, based on the blurb, I got the impression the story was about a pair of yuppies who found themselves/matured on a quest, like a poor man's version of Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, especially as one guy was an immature 30 year old and the other was experiencing a mid-life crisis, but ended up seeing 97 minutes of substandard horror crap and displays of scripted stupidity.

My take on Allen going off into nowhere on the bike was he was taking over from the guy he killed. Like it got to him what he did and he must have had a thirst for more. As for Billy surviving being shot. Well I just think it was a lame attempt at them leaving it open so as to make more if they desire to if funding arrives at their doorstep.

I just think that the ending as a whole failed miserably. I wasn't disappointed too much throughout the movie. But the end was a big left down for me. Susan and the girl should have survived and they should have been walking down the road as Allen passed them on the bike and just ignored them and drove into the horizon.
