Ways Kevin Sullivan has ruined the Anne series...

I'm basing this on having watched all parts this past week (never read the books), but apparently he forgot how the story even began! And I'm really annoyed with them not casting Megan Follows for this since she is the "right" age for this, but perhaps she just felt this wasn't true to the other parts and simply denied being in it! Hope so since it is a disgrace!! She living in a huge house, being a tutor, living richly?! What happened with Anne not knowing how to pray, caring for loads of twins, not knowing her parents, living in poverty..?! Bah, a disgrace! It doesn't deserve 5,5!

He went down hill when he had Morgan Harris, a man old enough to be Anne's FATHER, be a substitute for Roy Gardner AND have him flirt with Anne....Disgusting. *shudders*

I really wish that movie had been about Anne in College instead of skipping over college and having her teach in Kingsport, which is from 'Anne of Windy Poplars'.

Then he screwed up when he had them "engaged for five years", move to New York, then get married in a fast wedding (with no Reverend Allan!), have Rachel Lynde mention Davy Keith...to which Anne looked confused...now had Davy and Dora been added in the SECOND MOVIE like they were in the SECOND BOOK, she wouldn't have been CONFUSED.


This horrible "new beginning" butchering of Anne of Green Gables (who WAS AN ORPHAN! Her parents DIED when she was just a baby!) was on a PBS station earlier today....I was trying to find some cartoons for a niece to watch and I quickly skipped over this horrible program after realizing it was NOT the beloved one that had Megan Follows in it.

Agreed, and it's almost impossible to find the show online for free. When so many other shows filmed 10-20 years ago are free. This and Road To Avonlea.

I completely agree. If it was BASED on the books, it should follow as closely as possible! Gilbert doesn't die! As much as I love Green Gables, they don't live there either, & where are all their kids? Its been awhile since I read the books but I believe they had 6. This is ridiculous! And no offense to Barbara Hershey, but no one plays Anne like Megan Follows. Honestly, why did they even bother making the last 2?!
