I'm Not Even Going to Watch This

I've been an Anne fan ever since I read the books when I was little, and I love the first two miniseries, but from what I've heard, the fourth isn't even worth my time. The third was wretched, and it sounds like the fourth is even worse. Usually I hate when people diss something they haven't even seen, but I think I would be excused for just bypassing this one.
So for the people who have seen it, what do you say? Should I watch it so I can form my own opinion as to its merits, or is it not worth it even for that?

"Don't tell me what the people want, I know what the people want! Get Bryan Adams on the phone!"

reply

Oouldn't tell you. I'm on your side all the way. The very idea seems so dishonoring of a wonderful character from literature that I won't even watch it. It feels like heresy.

reply

If you ignore it being Anne it's not too bad... I'm a little over an hour into it right now and if I try not to think of it as Anne but as someone else it's not too bad. It just isn't Anne.

reply

Me either. I just cannot imagine Barbara Hershey as Anne! No way. They should have asked Megan Follows back.

reply

If she was asked to do it, she should have said no on account of how bolloxed the story was.

reply

I hope you never watched it.
It was blasphemous.
As the other person said, the third one was wretched. The only reason to watch it is to see Anne and Gilbert together, with Megan and Jonathan reprising their roles. That's the third one's only redeeming quality.
