A bit...... rubbish

I thought it was a bit of a mess. Any thoughts?

not good, not good at all! i had to turn it off halfway through cos it was so bad. i LOVE kris marshall though (my life in film, catwalk dogs) so it's a shame he is wasted in this.

by the way, what did that guy say "check if he's got a new brand of razor" to the woman whose husband was cheating on her? wats that got to do with anything?

Because you:
had to turn it off halfway through cos it was so bad
is why you missed the point he was making. Later in the episode she came back and he explained that when a bloke's not playing away from home any old razor will do but when he's shagging his young secretary only Gillette will do.

Still a crap start to a new show though and I doubt I'll be watching any more.

ahhh yes it makes sense now, thanks!

I don't know what it is about it.

Perhaps it's the fact that the property market just isn't funny.

Perhaps it's because it's like no estate agent in the real world.

Perhaps it's because the office looks like set of a Kylie Minogue video.

Perhaps it's the ridiculous two dimensional (with the exception of Danny who at least has a back story) cast of characters.

Whatever it is, I've recorded every episode and I can't imagine ever wanting to watch them again so I think it falls short of the comedy classic status enjoyed by Fawlty Towers, Only Fools etc.

It's a curate's egg; it has good parts and bad parts. The bad parts aren't that bad and the good parts aren't that good...

It's like one of those movies about something - computer hacking, say - and it's clear that the writers have read My First Book on Computing but don't really know anything about the subject so people who know about computing sit there mystified going "er, what?"

Back in seventies there was a series called "Studio" about a recording studio which was so ridiculous it had all my friends in the music business doubled up with laughter. "Rock Follies" was another like that. Joe Public swallowed it hook line and sinker though so that was OK and I guess if "Sold" entertains people then that's OK as well...

I cant understand it..its extremely funny! seriously have any of you given this programne a chance? I dont think so.

you go Gallant-girl!

I found it really funny to start with.
Now the characters are really developing and although it's still funny - there's a lot of edgier stuff coming into play.
I'm hooked as I want to know what happens to them next.

Danny seems to be working some sort of magic over them.
I love the way they are helping each other out now - they wouldn't have done that in the first episode.
I think it really shows what a fine actor Kris Marshall is.

I think it will be the final episode next week -
and Anthony Head will make a real 3D appearance according to the trailer.
I'm hoping for a second series already.

Thankyou! You put it far better and more eloquent then I ever could. I totally agree with what you said, and Brian Dick/Danny is a sweetheart, but last night I wonder if the roles between Danny and the "I shall do whatever I can to get a sale" Matt/Kris Marshall :), may reverse in the last episode? and Danny gets above himself, tut tut, then Matt is then the one who we start to feel sorry for? as i like to think we shall see another side to Matt, the one with a heart and feelings to!.

Well you just never know eh? such is Show Buisness and the wicked world of Estate Agents? ;)

And I for certain hope there shall be another "Sold" on ITV! because I`m SOLD on it...ok that was pretty corny but I meant every word!.

Actually, I thought the storylines thus far are far removed from being a mess and quite well done.

Amusing and bloody hilarious at times, didn't think I'd find a series about estate agents funny, but, thats the thing see, good writing.

Looking forward to Series Two.

I have to agree with your last sentiment, Christina Cole is very very watchable.

I think the second series (if it happens!) will have a different focus as Danny getting into tangles with Colubrine his dad, which I don't mind, but I do like the needling and aggro generated between Mat and Danny.
