The best thing about that big party full of pretentious douchebags was the part where it gets broken up by a monster attack. Seriously, by having that many stuck-up yuppie twits in the same place, the only merciful way to end it is to have an apocalyptic monster attack kill off half of them and pick off the rest one by one. It's like the whole premise of the story was to show how cosmically insufferable it is to have such a concentrated number of vapid poseurs in the same room. The monsters are the heroes here.

Agreed.
I was thinking up until the monster arrived "Why does Hollywood think we care about these people...?" - hating the stereotype cast of these young people who think they are the center of the universe only to get the catatonic shock of their lives.
I was rooting for the monster also.

every time i re-watch this i fast forward until the fist explosion, no way I'm sitting through 20 minutes of annoying douchebags babbling around.

I think that's the point. I live in New York so I can attest to people being that obnoxious, so for me that's part of the fun. If the characters were likable, I don't think it would work so well.

Don't know, I actually liked Lily, Jason, Marlena and Beth. The rest, not so much.

I like watching the entire movie just to see Hud get silenced at the end.

"They say the ----ing smog is the ----ing reason why you have such beautiful ----ing sunsets"

Do you guys get out at all?? They were normal college graduates lol. It was meant to portray your average 20 year old that parties and has a social life. I found the beginning interesting enough to care about the main characters once they started getting picked off. Especially Jason.
