VFX by EyeQube Studios

According to Wikipedia, DRONA’s VFX are being handled by EyeQube Studios, an Indian company...

“Eros-controlled EyeQube Studios is roping in 250 visual effects artists, including animators, designers, matte painters and developers, for its upcoming projects. The post-production/VFX studio has bagged Bollywood projects that include ALADIN, which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Riteish Deshmukh; and DRONA with Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra.”

Finally, Indian VFX companies are starting to produce high-quality work, or at least get recognition for what they’re doing...

There were a lot of vfx companies involved in Drona - EyeQube were one of them.

Credit has to go to all the others involved too, including FutureWorks, who also did all the Digital Intermediate work - I was the lead colourist and DI supervisor (see:www.digitalpraxis.net), Tata Elxsi, Red Chillies, Pranan, etc.

So, are we going to see a decent Blu Ray for this film?

I am sure you must have read in many reviews and comments on IMDB that many have found the special effects to be poor, including myself.

I wonder if you can explain why they were so bad? When I say bad I mean the graphics were not rendered properly, the resolution was crude, they looked very fake and had a computer-game feel to them. The electricity effects with the cloning scene were plain awful, I've seen better in 80's films.

I worry for the other Bollywood SFX film Aladin now, also done by EyeQube. You can't make SFX films and not have good SFX, it ends up destroying the film.

the blue screening and random FX were good enough, but the major eye candy like blue petals and sands were horrible!

sand and water are the two hardest thing to do

if you cant do it, then don't!! if it looks bad then don't include the scene, the sands scene wasn't even crucial to the film/!

Why...So..Serious? Let's put a smile on that face of yours!
