Changed Claire's Character

This was something that bothered me about the movie, did anyone else catch this?
In the book, at the sleepover, all the clique girls say they would rather be a friendless loser, and not a person with tons of friends that secretly hate them. Claire does NOT say she'd rather be a friendless loser, and her choice shows she's a bit of a popularity seeker.
When they changed this in the movie, they changed Claire's character. It made her seem very perfect, and grounded in her opinions. Like she would never do something to please someone else, even if she didn't like them (which is the vibe I got from her from the book).
Does anyone else notice this?

Yes. This bothered me so much! I hated Claire in the books, but at least she didn't come off saint-like. The movie version was so annoying, they should not have changed her character so much.
